Scraping pumpkins.
A small slab isolates the surface, depth and material. Drag to scoop, or try “Etch an eye” and switch to “Candle behind” to reveal the thickness.
The 3D experiment loads when you press Start.

Things to try
- Make crossing strokes with “Per pass”, then compare “Even” depth to keep a consistent floor.
- Use “Shave a region” to draw a closed outline, or “Etch an eye” for a ready-made example.
- Switch to “Candle behind”. Thinner flesh glows more brightly in this authored backlight model.
- Compare the heightfield with the distance field. The pushed-mesh option preserves an earlier, unsuccessful method for comparison.
Mouse or touch to cut. Right-drag to orbit; use the View buttons on a phone. This is the original flat-wall study, with provisional cyan load markers and visible resolution limits. Changes are temporary; Stop resets the scene.
